YOUR AIRPORT. YOUR CLASSROOM.

Start with your next milestone.

  • Student Pilot Permit / PSTAR: pre-solo aviation regulations and operating knowledge.
  • Private Pilot Licence / PPAER: the aeroplane private-pilot knowledge examination.
  • Commercial Pilot Licence / CPAER: commercial aeroplane knowledge preparation.
  • ROC-A: the aeronautical radio operator certificate administered under ISED.

A Recreational Pilot Permit is another Canadian path; it is different from a Private Pilot Licence. Confirm the path and required training with a flight training unit before building a study schedule. Passing an app quiz is not evidence of meeting an official training or examination requirement.

IFR and the next qualifications.

Instrument-rating study brings in IFR procedures, instrument navigation and flight planning; INRAT is the Canadian instrument-rating written examination. Advanced Canadian topics also include IATRA, airline transport study, instructor ratings and additional aircraft ratings.

IATRA is a distinct examination associated with certain two-crew aeroplane type-rating requirements. It is not a substitute name for the ATPL examinations SARON and SAMRA. Use the Transport Canada guide that matches your intended licence, rating or examination. The classroom offers selected study topics, not a claim of full qualification-specific exam readiness.

Bring the examples closer to home.

Ground School 3D begins with Springbank (CYBW), near Calgary, and lets you choose a home airport for context. Familiar runway directions, wind and field elevation can make abstract ideas easier to picture.

These are simplified teaching scenarios. Choosing Calgary, Springbank or another airport does not turn a lesson into an operational briefing, current chart or clearance. Use current aeronautical publications, aircraft information and qualified instruction for actual flying.
