Your classroom.
Your privacy.
This notice explains how the current Ground School 3D website and app use information. For privacy questions or requests, contact groundschool3d@gmail.com.
Your account and learning progress
An account and completed classroom setup are required to access lessons, practice and interactive labs. We use Supabase to authenticate your account and sync your selected airport, course choices, lesson checks, lab notes, completed quizzes and lesson review records. An unfinished quiz stays on its current device. Earlier versions may have saved separate guest progress on a device; that legacy data can be imported from account settings, but guest study is not available in the current app.
Choosing a home airport does not require device location access. Please avoid putting sensitive personal information in lesson notes.
Your private profile
Classroom setup requires a display name, training country, qualification choice and home airport. You may choose “Exploring aviation” as your qualification. A profile photo, exam date and written training goal are optional. Profile photos are cropped and resized on your device before being saved privately with your account in Supabase; they are not published in a public directory. Profile details are not sent to Google Analytics.
Google, Apple and email sign-in
Google or Apple provides an account identifier and the identity details you authorize, such as your email address, name or profile image. Apple may provide a private relay email address if you choose Hide My Email. We request basic sign-in information, not access to your Gmail inbox, contacts, calendar or files. Your Google or Apple password is entered with that provider, not with Ground School 3D.
Email sign-in uses one-time codes delivered through Resend. The email address and authentication information are processed to deliver and verify those codes. If your account already has a password, you can also use it to sign in. That password is sent to Supabase for authentication; Ground School 3D does not store it in study records, profile data or device preferences.
Airport weather
To retrieve a report, the app sends the selected airport’s weather station identifier to NOAA’s Aviation Weather Center. Native apps request the report directly; the website uses our weather service. The receiving services also process technical connection information, such as an IP address. We do not attach your account identifier, profile or study answers to weather requests. Choosing an airport does not establish your physical location.
Optional website analytics
If you select “Allow analytics,” Google Analytics measures website visits and lesson views to help us understand which parts of the classroom people use. It can process a browser identifier, device and browser information, approximate location and interaction timing. Google processes technical connection information when receiving these requests.
Our analytics events use fixed page categories and lesson identifiers. They do not include your account email, name, quiz answers, notes, selected home airport, sign-in codes or authentication tokens. We remove query strings and fragments from the page address sent to Analytics. We do not enable advertising personalization or Google Signals.
Select “Only essential” to study without optional analytics. No Google Analytics script is loaded before consent. You can change your choice using “Analytics choices” in the classroom footer. We remember your choice in this browser for up to 180 days. Withdrawing consent stops future measurement and removes accessible Analytics cookies; it does not automatically erase data already received by Google. Native app analytics are not enabled by this website setting.
Storage and service providers
Essential device storage keeps your study progress, sign-in session and preferences. Supabase hosts account and synced study data in the project's Canada Central region. Hosting, email delivery and Google services may process technical or service data in other countries under their own policies. Hosting and authentication services may keep security and diagnostic logs.
We use these providers to operate the service and measure usage where you allow it. We do not sell your account information or study notes. External reference links take you to services with their own privacy practices.
Your choices and requests
In My profile & settings, you can edit your profile, manage linked sign-in methods, request a verified email change, download a JSON copy of your profile and study data, or permanently delete your account after a recent sign-in and explicit confirmation. Deletion removes your live account, profile and synced study records and this device’s account cache. Legacy guest progress is separate, and offline copies on other devices are not remotely erased. You can also sign out, decline website analytics, or send privacy requests by emailing groundschool3d@gmail.com. You can request deletion without reinstalling the app using our account-deletion page. We may ask you to verify account ownership. Deleting Ground School 3D data does not delete your Google or Apple account. Signing out does not delete synced study data, and unsynced progress may remain on that device. Clearing browser or app storage removes local progress and preferences.
Account and study information remains available for continued use until it is deleted. Service-provider backups, operational logs and aggregated reports may have different retention schedules. We will explain relevant limits when responding to a deletion request.
Support messages
If you email support, we receive your email address and the message, attachments and account details you choose to include so that we can respond. Do not include your password or one-time sign-in codes. Support correspondence is separate from study records; include it in your request if you want it reviewed for deletion.
